The castrated “conservatives” of the Republican Party will roll over and allow the liberal anti-constitutional Supreme Court nominee, Sotomayor, to walk into a lifetime job of deconstructing our founding document. Republicans are so afraid of losing potential Hispanic votes, which they could never win without compromising their principles in any case, that they will only give token resistance to a member of the racist organization, La Raza, and someone who is less than convinced that Americans have a “right” to keep and bear arms.

While the liberal socialists of the Democratic Party are threatening to destroy this country forever, a far more troubling situation is the fact that the GOP has been giving tacit approval to every move to centralize power in this country, every move to sell our children’s future to salve our own fears, and every move to undermine our liberties and freedoms in order to placate social progressives who will never ever concede the wisdom of our Founding Fathers.

This woman is a proponent of identity politics, and will advocate such positions from the bench. This woman is a racist, supported by her membership in the racist organization La Raza, and will continue to undermine true civil rights. There is little doubt that this social progressive will hold the line on the abortion that is Rove v Wade, and ample evidence that she will continue the liberal assault on the 2nd Amendment. If only there were patriots in opposition to defend our heritage of liberty and freedom. If only.

One year after the Supreme Court shocked Americans with its eminent domain decision, Kelo v. New London, officials in Riviera Beach, Fla., announced their intention to seize 400 acres of land, including hundreds of homes and businesses, and transfer the property to a developer to build stores and condominiums.

Although Gov. Jeb Bush signed a new law on May 11, 2006, that prohibits these kinds of property seizures, the city rushed to approve its plan in an emergency meeting on May 10. Asked about these shady tactics, Riviera Beach Mayor Michael Brown insisted the city acted legally.

“We’re comfortable,” he said, “with everything we’ve done.” Unfortunately, Brown’s audacity is typical of bureaucrats who see Kelo as signaling open season on landowners. These officials perceive themselves as sculptors of neighborhoods, who mold their ideal city from the property that people have worked hard to buy. They don’t see property as a right, but as a privilege that can be revoked or altered in the name of “progress.”

Our Founding Fathers believed that government exists to protect property rights. But to “progressives” like Brown, private property – and the people who own it – exist for the government’s purposes.
